World Energy Imbalance

Experiential Design Project

The global energy landscape presents a growing cause for concern, with a clear imbalance between energy supply and consumption across the world. In response to this issue, I designed an experiential project consisting of a book and two supporting posters to visualise and communicate the scale of this imbalance.

18% of world oil production – United States

50% of global coal output – China

The booklet is divided into two main sections. The first focuses on the global distribution of energy, examining consumption, reserves, and production—primarily across oil, coal, and natural gas. Data visualisation and structured layouts were used to translate complex information into an accessible and engaging format.

The accompanying posters extend the narrative of the booklet, reinforcing key insights and encouraging reflection on the long-term implications of global energy dependency and sustainability.
